Akli Zetchi, MD, FRCS(C), FAANS

Dr. Akli Zetchi is a cerebrovascular neurosurgeon with expertise in open and endovascular treatments of vascular disorders of the brain and spinal cord. He completed his certification examination in neurosurgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2016. He completed 3 years of clinical fellowship in interventional neuroradiology and open cerebrovascular neurosurgery, 2 years at the University of Toronto and one year in Paris. He has special interest in treating acute ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, brain aneurysms, vascular malformations of the brain and spinal cord, carotid occlusive disease and trigeminal neuralgia.  He also has an interest and extensive training in general neurosurgery including brain tumors, adult-onset hydrocephalus andtraumatic brain injury.

Dr. Zetchi's research interests include: innovative techniques for treating stroke, brain aneurysms and vascular malformations of the brain and spinal cord, and testing tools for improving surgical education. 

Dr. Zetchi practices at Greenwich and Yale New Haven Hospitals. He lives in Greenwich, CT with his wife Sabrina, who is a nurse engaged in global health.
